Question honey surprisingly controversial in the vegan world, but honey is an animal product and definitely not vegan. The bees do not produce honey for people to eat, they create it as their own, the sole source of nutrition.

As Piper Hoffman explained here Care2 , bees are the central nervous system. Pain they experience, as well as larger animals do. “I’m going to speculate here, that hurts the starving,” says Hoffman, “and thanks to the beekeepers, some whole hives starve to death in the winter.”

There are some vegans who assert that the local medical ethical standards, because the methods used to take the honey less severe than in the commercial operations of honey. 6. Sorghum Syrup – Sorghum interesting culture. Some power companies are looking at the heat- and drought-tolerant crops as an alternative to corn used for manufacture of biofuel and it is also versatile in the kitchen. Sorghum syrup is available in most grocery stores and about as sweet as honey, so that can it in a sub in the ratio of one to one.
