Here’s What Julianne Hough Eats In A Day
Julianne Hough, Dancing With The Stars judge and triple-threat extraordinaire, seems to be constantly on the go. When she’s not gracing DWTS with her presence, she’s off dancing on tour or working on one of her numerous other creative projects. Seriously, when does this woman sleep? And more importantly, how on earth does she fuel her body for such a packed schedule? We may never know the answer to the former (spoiler alert: she probably has super powers), but Spoon University recently revealed the deets on the latter.
For starters, Hough prioritizes healthy breakfast choices. “I feel like if I eat badly first thing in the morning, I’m screwed the rest of the day,” she shared with SELF earlier this year. “I have to make sure that whatever I eat in the morning is somewhat healthy and makes me feel good…If I can have a juice and some eggs, I feel like I’ve started my day off right.” According to Spoon University, Hough begins days on the road with a quality combo of green juice and eggs. (She prefers hers hard-boiled, FYI.)
For lunch on the road, Hough likes to feast on a grilled chicken salad, topped with a revolving variety of veggies. At dinnertime, the star likes to switch between meals like stir fry chicken, quinoa, salad, or sweet potatoes—foods that can help her recover from a day of intense performing. When it comes to snacks, she likes to nom on apples or protein bars that include lots of fiber.
For Hough, one of the keys to sticking to healthy eating habits is keeping things interesting. Her fiancé, NHL player Brooks Laich, keeps up a very healthy food regimen, and Hough enjoys the challenge of finding ways to make his meals more exciting. “He eats super, super clean, to the point where it’s so boring,” she recently told SELF. “So I can bring variety to some healthy things. It makes me excited because I get to come up with really fun, creative ways to stay healthy—because he won’t eat anything unhealthy—so finding cool, yummy recipes [is important].” Thanks for the tips, Julianne.
