New PETA India Jallikattu Investigation Proves Regulation Doesn’t Stop Cruelty

After conducting fresh investigations of nine different jallikattu events from 14 to 28 January 2018 held in four separate Tamil Nadu districts, it is blaringly obvious that no amount of regulation reduces cruelty to animals. Jallikattu inevitably inflicts excessive mental and physical abuse on animals and endangers animals and spectators. PETA India plans to submit its findings to the Supreme Court in support of its ongoing case challenging the constitutional validity of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Tamil Nadu Amendment) Act, 2017.
