Oatmeal has the unfortunate reputation of being the most boring of the breakfast options. Why? For starters, it’s incredibly affordable. And of course, it is incredibly easy to make, especially when you’re bleary-eyed and in a hurry. But does it really need to be a boring, bland bowl of mush? Absolutely not! Try these tasty hacks to find an oatmeal that speaks to your preferences and never be bored of breakfast again!

Breakfast oatmeal congee

Congee is a traditional Asian breakfast that is essentially a thick porridge of rice topped with savory ingredients. So, why not make it with oats? Grain-free “oatmeal”

If you don’t tolerate grains well, oatmeal is off your list of cheap and easy to make meals. Or maybe you are Paleo or on Whole 30.
